Date: 27 April 2021 Commercial Property Solicitor

An opportunity has arisen for a hardworking and ambitious Commercial Property Solicitor to join our friendly, niche commercial law practice in Derby City Centre. This is a full-time role for a fee earner to manage a flourishing caseload, with the possibility of flexible or occasional home working.

You will be required to undertake a broad base of work including:

Drafting and negotiating contracts for sale , transfers, completion statements and raising pre-contract enquiries, obtaining Landlord's consent to assign, references, agreeing Licences Landlord & Tenant;

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating leases, Agreements for lease, agreeing deeds of variation, deeds of surrender;

Drafting and serving Break Notices and Section 27 Notices;

Conducting Land Registry searches, examining title, calculating SDLT liabilities and completing HM Revenue & Customs SDLT returns

 

The successful applicant must be able to handle a full caseload with minimal supervision.

You will be expected to work towards a departmental target and provide training to junior members of staff.

 

Person specification

  • You will be a qualified Solicitor or FCilex Legal Executive
  • Able to handle a mixed workload with limited supervision
  • Previous experience of commercial property work is essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Well organised and responsible
  • Able to problem solve as part of a team and individually
  • Willingness to partake in marketing events
  • Commercial awareness
