Matthew heads up our commercial property practice as an Associate Director. Matthew is a very experienced solicitor who for many years worked in Derby and, after a two year period working in-house in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, returned to private practice with us. Matthew has phenomenal attention to detail without losing sight of the commercial needs of his clients, all combined with a rye wit. Outside of the office he pursues his ongoing interests in archaeology and local history as well as hunting out cheap, and ideally free, days out to take his children on at weekends!

He has a wealth of experience in negotiating on behalf of clients and has a No Nonsense realistic approach, when it comes to chasing overdue accounts, advising clients regarding disputed claims and will always endeavour to avoid Court action wherever possible, to retain the “client / customer” relationship; but he does enjoy a good challenge and a fight!
In addition, Philip is well known for his many contacts and if you have a question or query that he cannot answer, he is almost certain to know someone who can.
Outside of work, Philip enjoys good food and wine and swimming, to work off the good food and wine!
