Press Release 2nd December 2005 A COMMERCIAL firm of solicitors providing specialist legal advice including on hiring and firing for Derby companies has opened for business. Bradley and Jefferies Commercial Solicitors - a Derby-based practice offering advice on employment and commercial law – opened its doors to clients last month. And co-founder Amanda Jefferies said the firm could offer much-needed help for businesses in the city who were unsure about the rapidly-changing legal situation in the workplace. In a recent survey, members of the Forum of Private Business, which represents 25,000 businesses across the UK, said a lack of understanding of employment law was the second biggest barrier to growth after tax. Amanda said: “We often get businesses coming to us saying they have sacked somebody, but if they have not followed appropriate procedures it could easily lead to a case of automatically unfair dismissal. “We cannot only help them with the situation in hand, we can also provide specialist training for managers to avoid problems like this in the future.” They also specialise in company and commercial law issues including the buying and selling of businesses as well as commercial contract negotiations, shareholder disputes and other business matters. Amanda added: “Our client base is broad, but we do have a special affinity with start-up enterprises as we’ve actually done it ourselves.“Our philosophy is simple, to deliver an efficient, no-nonsense quality service to our clients, by experienced lawyers, at a fair price.” For more information about the company call |
